Monthly Recycling Run
Tristan and I made our monthly run to Pottstown Recycling Services today. We typically end up recycling an average of 90% of our waste each month. I'm still working on a better storage system for everything, right now we just cram everything into brown paper grocery bags, then sort it by number and material type. Once on site it takes about an hour to process, as we have to sort it all into the appropriate containers ourselves. It's quite an educational experience and even more detailed than any other sorting I've done previously. I would love to see a national network of these facilities some day and have a few thoughts on how such a system can be implemented. In the meantime, I'm happy to be recycling as extensively as we have been.
